Draw with a skin marking pen the line of the Metatarso-phalangeal joint of the fifth toe on the dorsal surface of the foot on a model in the Anatomical position with side lighting and a time limit of thirty seconds.

Objective No 115 - Criteria to be demonstrated.

1. Identify and mark the Base of the Fifth Metatarsal bone. (Objective No 109).

2. Palpate the base, move distally along the Shaft and identify the Neck and Head of the Fifth Metatarsal bone.

3. Fully flex the fifth toe keeping a finger tip on the Head of the Metatarsal bone.

4. Extend and flex the fifth toe and note the position where movement takes place immediately distal to the Head of the Fifth Metatarsal bone.

5. Mark the position where movement between the Head of the Fifth Metatarsal bone and the Base of the Proximal Phalanx of the Fifth Toe takes place with a line to indicate the joint space.
