Mark with a skin marking pen the position of the Head of Fibula on a model in the Anatomical position with side lighting and a time limit of thirty seconds. Objective No 96 - Criteria to be demonstrated. 1. Request the model to flex the knee joint against resistance. 2. Place the palmar surface of the index finger on the lateral aspect of the lower one third of the Thigh. 3. Palpate downwards towards the lateral aspect of the Knee Joint and identify the strong , rounded and distinct tendon of Biceps Femoris muscle. 4. Request the model to rotate the Tibia in a lateral direction to make the tendon more distinct. 5. Palpate the tendon to its major distal attachment which is a prominent subcutaneous bony projection lying posterolateral to the Lateral Condyle of Tibia. 6. This prominent bony projection lying 1cm inferior to the Knee Joint is the Head of Fibula.
