Draw with a skin marking pen the borders of the Patella on a model in the Anatomical position with side lighting and a time limit of thirty seconds. Objective No 95 - Criteria to be demonstrated. 1. Request the model to lean forwards slightly from standing to reduced the muscle tone in Quadriceps Femoris. 2. Grasp the Patella between the tip of the index finger and Thumb. Move the Patella passively over the anterior surfaces of the Femoral Condyles. 3. Note that the Inferior pole of the Patella lies 1cm above the line of the Knee Joint. 4. Palpate the inferior pole of the Patella and trace the Ligamentum Patellae down to the Tibial Tubercle/Tuberosity. 5. Request the model to extend and flex the Knee Joint and palpate the margins of the Ligamentum Patellae and borders of the Patella.
