Demonstrate and palpate the Extensor Digitorum muscle on a model in the Anatomical position with a time limit of one minute.

Objective No 57 - Criteria to be demonstrated.

1. Request the model to place the Elbow , Forearm and Hand  on a table with the Dorsal surface facing upwards and surface mark the Lateral Epicondyle of Humerus (Objective No 8)

2. Request the model to strongly extend the Radio-carpal , Metacarpophalangeal  joints and Interphalangeal joints of the  Fingers against maximal resistance.

3. The muscle belly can be clearly identified on the posterior surface of the Forearm  inferior to the Lateral Epicondyle of Humerus adjacent to Extensor Carpi radialis Longus and Brevis.Distal

4. The four extensor tendons of the fingers passing to their distal attachments on the Middle and Distal Phalanx of each of the four fingers can be  observed and palpated on the dorsal surface of the Hand when the proximal phalanges are extended against maximal resistance.
