Demonstrate and palpate the Extensor Carpi-ulnaris muscle on a model in the Anatomical position with a time limit of one minute

Objective No 58 - Criteria to be demonstrate.

1. Request the model to place a Hand flat on a table with the Palmar surface facing down.

2. Surface mark the Dorsal surface of the Base of the Fifth Metacarpal bone.

3. Surface mark the Lateral Epicondyle of Humerus (Objective No 8)  and Posterior border of Ulna (Objective No 15)

4. Request the model to extend the Radio-carpal joint and deviate towards the Ulna  against maximal resistance.

5. The muscle belly can be palpated inferior to the Lateral Epicondyle of Humerus ,on the posterior  surface middle third  of the Forearm, lateral  to the Posterior border of the Ulna

6. The tendon of Extensor Carp-ulnaris can be palpated  passing to its distal attachment the Dorsal surface of the Base of the Fifth Metacarpal bone immediately superior and inferior to the Head of Ulna (Objective No 10)
