Draw with a skin marking pen the projected outline of the Sustentaculum Tali on a model in the Anatomical position with side lighting and a time limit of thirty seconds.

 Objective No 105 - Criteria to be demonstrated.

1. Keeping the foot in the Anatomical position, place the tip of the index finger on the Medial border of the foot.

2. The tip of the index finger should point towards the inferior border of the Medial Malleolus of Tibia.

3. Palpate with firm pressure from the Medial Border of the Foot in an upwards direction towards the Inferior Border of the Medial Malleolus.

4. Approximately 2cms below the inferior border of the Medial Malleolus a projecting shelf of bone is encountered by the palpating finger tip.

5. This projecting shelf of bone is the Sustentaculum Tali.
