Identify the position and surface mark with a pen the position of the Scaphoid bone on a model in the anatomical position with side lighting and a time limit of 15 seconds. Objective No 19 - Criteria to be demonstrated. 1. Request the model to flex the elbow joint to a right angle . 2. Request the model to fully extend the wrist joint. 3. At the base of the Thenar eminence immediately distal to the inferior extremity of the Radius the skin colour pales as a bone projects forwards during extension of the wrist against the skin. 4. This is the position of the Scaphoid bone. 5. Identify the Styloid process of the Radius. (Objective No12) 6. Palpate immediately distal to the Styloid process of the Radius in the Anatomical Snuff Box. 7. This is the position of the Scaphoid bone.
