Identify by palpation and mark with a surface marking pen on a model in the anatomical position the course of the Femoral Artery in the region of the Hip Joint within a time limit of one minute. (Chaperone required)

Objective No 153 - Criteria to be demonstrated.

1. Request the model to abduct, flex and laterally rotate the hip joint.

2. Identify and mark the Anterior Superior Iliac Spine. (Objective No 86)

3. Request the model to place a finger tip on the Symphysis Pubis.

4. Draw a line from the Anterior Superior Iliac spine in the direction of the Symphysis Pubis.

5. Mark a point on the line midway between the Anterior Superior Iliac Spine and the Symphysis Pubis

6. At this point identify and count the pulse of the Femoral Artery as it crosses the Ramus of Pubis and the anterior surface of the Head of Femur.
