Draw with a surface marking pen the course of the Short Saphenous vein in the lower limb on a model in the Anatomical position with a time limit of one minute.

Objective No 152 - Criteria to be demonstrated.

1. Identify  and mark the position of the Dorsal venous network in the foot.

2. Identify and mark the Lateral Malleolus of Fibula. (Objective No 103)

3. Identify and mark the Tendo-Calcaneus. (Objectives No 143 and 144)

4. Identify and mark the boundaries of the Popliteal fossa.

5. Mark the midpoint of the Popliteal Fossa.

6. Draw a line from the lateral aspect of the Dorsal Venous network, posterior to the Lateral Malleolus of the Fibula, ascending to cross the Tendo-Calcaneus to the midline.

7. Continue the line between the Medial and Lateral Heads of Gastrocnemius (Objectives No 143 and 144) to the midpoint of the Popliteal fossa.

8. This line marks the course of the Short Saphenous Vein from the lateral aspect of the Dorsal Venous network to the Popliteal Fossa where it pierces fascia to join the Popliteal Vein.
